Language Arts... This summer...

We will finish the book "Teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons" by Engelmann before the end of summer.

I downloaded a set of free readers "I See Sam Books" from Reading Lessons and I am very happy with them. I printed them and turned them into little books. They are similar to Bob Books but they progress a lot more slowly and do not get as difficult as the Bob Books. I think Rylee will be finished with them in the next couple of weeks or maybe less.

When she is finished with those we will start again on the Bob Books which will be finished by the end of summer.

We also use the Alphabetti readers. These are great for Rylee and Nathan. One of the things I love about these is that they teach the shapes of the letters in a unique way so that your child can read different fonts and not be confused. These are also available free for download at Progressive Phonics. Out of the three reader sets, these are by far the funnest stories. This is due to the fact that they are full size stories. You read all of the black words and your child is only reading the red ones. I do not think we will be finished with these before summer is over because they are still being written.

Nathan has started asking for reading lessons lately. I will be doing the same thing for him as I have with Rylee... whenever he wants a reading lesson I will give him one.

40 weeks...

Today is my Due Date. No baby yet. I do not feel like I am anywhere near having this baby. I am hoping to go into labor tomorrow. Wish me luck... :)

39 weeks tomorrow...

I don't have much more time left. I feel a lot more organized now. I am re- deep cleaning to prepare for baby. I found most of the baby clothes and other things. We have a car seat!! That is always a plus. I spent a couple of days washing and folding baby clothes and it definitely made me want to hold this teeny little baby in my arms. It is so amazing how small they start out.

Not knowing the sex does complicate some things. I have a boy and a girl section for everything... onesies, pajamas, receiving blankets, sleep 'n' plays, outfits. It takes up more space right now but as soon as the baby is born I will have all that extra room.

My discomfort level is HIGH! That is all the complaining that I will do. :)
The baby seems to be content to stay put for now. Although with both Rylee and Nathan I was completely caught by surprise. I doubt this time will be any different.

Rylee and Nathan are so excited to meet the baby. They can't believe how long it takes.

Yes, I am noticing that this is a very random posts of thoughts... but one last thing...

This is the first time that I have had a newborn baby with a cat. Should I be worried. She loves to climb into things and I am scared that she will get in the babies bed. Should I lock her in a room at night? Any thoughts... suggestions...

Anyway, can't wait to meet this little one. Maybe this will be my last weekly post... :)

Vitamin K for Baby...

One of the things that my midwife will not be doing is giving the baby a Vitamin K injection. I found this article on Vitamin K being given to babies as soon as they are born and thought it was interesting and a little scary...

Randoms...

Our lawn guy decided not to show up for about two months... (yes that is a piece of grass that is as tall as Rylee).
